The fellowship experience includes:
The Pediatric Fellowship is an eight- to ten-week orientation and training experience. During this time, you will progress from a novice to a fully-trained pediatric nurse under the direct supervision of an experienced practitioner. When your fellowship has been completed, you will be comfortable caring for pediatric patients in a developmentally appropriate manner.
This Position Offers:
Providing direct care to patients while under the guidance of a preceptor. Our trained preceptors are pediatric nursing experts. We believe hands-on learning experiences are the most beneficial for our new nurses.
Weekly lectures focused on pediatric-specific disease processes and procedures facilitated by the Advanced Practice Nurse Clinician.
Computer modules that will enhance your learning experience by exploring the pathology of commonly-seen disease processes in pediatric patients.
Opportunities to practice procedures with our high fidelity simulator.
Establishment of weekly goals for you and your preceptor to achieve together.
Support via weekly one-on-one meetings with the nursing educator to assess the progress of your individualized learning plan.
Shadow days in our specialty areas to provide you a deeper understanding of the pediatric patient s specific needs. These areas include:
Tests and Treatments
Cardinals Kids Cancer Center
We require a nursing degree from an accredited school.
RN License in the State of Missouri or must obtain within 90 days of your graduation date.
Must have a current Basic Life Support (CPR) certification through the American Heart Association.
New Graduates: You must graduate with your nursing degree prior to the Fellowship/Residency Program start date in order to be considered for this opportunity.

The application process can take up to 1-hour from start to finish.
